The Hundred will have emerging associate talent on show on global TV

The eight teams for “The Hundred”, namely Birmingham Phoenix (Edgbaston), London Spirit (Lord’s), Manchester Originals (Old Trafford), Northern Superchargers (Leeds), Oval Invincibles (The Oval), Southern Brave (Ageas Bowl), Trent Rockets (Trent Bridge) & Welsh Fire (Cardiff), announced their list of players being retained, along with some new signings, before they further completed their squads, picking up players from the draft held privately on 22nd February 2021.

Scotland Women national squad members Kathryn Bryce and Abtaha Maqsood have been announced in respective squads for Birmingham Phoenix and Trent Rockets. In the Men’s category, Bermuda’s Delray Rawlins was retained by Southern Brave, while Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane was retained by Oval Invincibles, and Netherlands player Roelof van der Merwe was retained by London Spirit.

A mini-draft to complete the squads took place once the retained players were announced by all the franchises on 04th February. During the draft, each team had a ‘Right to Match’ option, applying to players contracted for 2020, but released into the 2021 draft pool. The final pick in the squads (wildcard pick) by all the eight team’s was done in June.

Round 3: £60,000
Round 4: £48,000
Round 5: £40,000
Round 6: £32,000
Round 7: £24,000

The Associate member country players to feature in the competition includes the likes of Roelof van der Merwe, Sandeep Lamichhane, Colin Ackermann, Delray Rawlins, Fred Klassen, Brandon Glover, Abtaha Maqsood, Sterre Kalis, Sarah Bryce, Kathryn Bryce and Timm van der Gugten.
