A brilliant display of power hitting during the final five overs of a T20 innings from Singapore’s Tim David and a 5-wicket spell of spin bowling by Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan saw Lahore Qalandars further extend their advantage in the HBL Pakistan Super League points table standings.
A 10-run victory over Peshawar Zalmi means Lahore Qalandars now have 10 points from six matches, four points clear of second-placed Karachi Kings.
Singaporean David cut loose in the final five overs of Qalandars innings with a 36-ball knock of 64 not out, which propelled the team score to 170/8. Rashid then ripped through the Peshawar Zalmi’s middle order, picking up 5/20 as they could muster only 160-8 in reply.
Tim David was picked up by Lahore during the replacement draft held for PSL franchises ahead of the 2021 season resumption in the UAE. This is his 2nd high-profile franchise based T20 league appearance after a strong season for Hobart Hurricanes during 2020/2021 Big Bash League (BBL) in Australia.
