Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA) will be hosting the 2025 ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier from September 22nd – 29th, 2024 at the venues of Gahanga International Cricket stadium and IPRC ground in Kigali. RCA will host U19 Women’s teams of Zimbabwe, Namibia, Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya and Malawi in the 8-nation event, from which the winner will advance to the main event in Malaysia in January/February 2025, and join Group C with New Zealand, South Africa and Samoa.
The originally planned 14-event qualifier was divided into two (2) divisions, with Kenya and Malawi qualifying from the Division 2 Qualifier held in Kigali, Rwanda in August 2024 and joining Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Tanzania, Uganda and Nigeria, who were given a direct entry into the main Qualifier. Top two (2) teams from each group at the end of the single round-robin group stage format will advance to the semifinals, while the bottom two (2) teams from both groups will compete for the finishing positions play-off matches.
