Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) have announced the 15-member men’s National squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers from Oct 18th – Nov 02nd, 2019 at home.
UAE are placed alongside Ireland, Oman, Hong Kong, Canada, Jersey and Nigeria in Group B in the Qualifiers and will play all their group matches at Zayed International Stadium in Abu Dhabi. UAE play their official warm-up matches against Scotland and Papua New Guinea on Oct 14th & 15th, before the tournament proper begins from 18th.

UAE had a successful tour of Netherlands in Aug 2019, as part of their preparations for the Qualifiers. Newly appointed captain Ahmed Raza and head coach Dougie Brown target finishing at the top of the group to qualify for the semi-finals and directly get into the main draw of T20 World Cup, without having to go through the play-off’s to secure their spot.
It’s not been officially announced or any press release has come out from Emirates Cricket Board, but Mohammad Naveed has been ommitted from the squad and also replaced by Raza as the captain, while Shaiman Anwar and Qadeer Ahmed have also been removed from the originally announced squad by the board.
