Uganda beat Rwanda to enter Final of “Cricket Builds Hope” tournament

Uganda Select XI defeated Rwanda on a damp and wet wicket by 43 runs to enter the finals of “Cricket Builds Hope” tournament.

The hosts won the toss and decided to field first and had Uganda in all sorts of trouble at 49/5 until Riazat Shah (33), Rogers Olipa (22) & Brian Masaba (19) played good hands and helped the team put on a challenging score of 135/9 on board.

Rwanda could not mount any serious challenge towards the target and were eventually bowled out for 92 in 19 overs.

Uganda will now play UK’s club side Christopher Shale XI in the final on Sunday afternoon. The final will see the official opening of the Gahanga International stadium in Kigali, Rwanda. An exhibition match between Brian Lara XI and Michael Vaughan XI will commemorate the occasion.
