Uganda Cricket Association (UCA), in association with Omtex ICWC Cricket Institute, are currently having their Men’s National squad undergo a preparatory camp in Mumbai from January 19th – 26th, 2024 to start their preparations towards 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in the US and the Caribbean Islands. The team will be playing a total of nine (9) practice matches against local opponents and Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) select XI to fine-tune their skills, ahead of the ICC Marquee event in June. Uganda Men have been placed alongside New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan and Papua New Guinea in their group (C) in the T20 World Cup, for which the fixtures have already been announced.
The team have a busy schedule ahead, with their participation in the Africa Games in Accra, Ghana in March 2023, followed by a tentative tour of Namibia in April 2024, which has become an annual arrangement between the boards of Uganda and Namibia in the past couple of years. The partnership between Omtex ICWC and Uganda Cricket Association has seen both the senior and junior squads of Uganda tour the facility on a regular basis in the past couple of years for preparatory tours before the teams take part in various ICC pathway competitions.
