Uganda men’s squad announced for T20 World Cup Africa qualifiers in Rwanda

Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) have announced their 14-member men’s squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa qualifiers scheduled to take place in Rwanda 15th – 23rd, 2021 at Gahanga International cricket ground and IPRC Kigali ground. Uganda will be competing with teams from Ghana, Lesotho, Malawi, Rwanda, Seychelles and Eswatini (Swaziland) in the sub-regional qualifiers to stake claim on the single qualification spot into the Regional finals in Rwanda in November 2021.

Uganda men’s team have played a good amount of International cricket in 2021, with the tour to Namibia happening in April 2021, followed by them hosting teams from Kenya and Nigeria in the month of September 2021 for One-day and T20I Tri-series. The selected team for the qualifiers also played couple of practice matches at home against Uganda’s development squad in the T20 format before leaving for Rwanda.

Head coach Laurence Mahatlane has made two (2) changes to the squad that took part in the T20I Tri-series at home, with Frank Nsubuga and Richard Agamire taking the places of Charles Waiswa and Arnold Otwani in the squad.
