USA announce squad with new faces for Americas Qualifiers

It’s like the look of the USA squad with each passing International tournament is changing all the time with new players coming in and some of the seasonal stalwarts slowly making way for them.

The USA squad look for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas regional finals in Bermuda from Aug 18th – 25th is no different. Queensland (Australia FC state team) pacer Cameron Gannon has been drafted in on account of being an US passport holder is the most notable of them all. Gannon has First-Class experience with Queensland, apart from featuring for Brisbane Heat in KFC Big Bash seasons over the years.

Another notable entry (recall of sorts) is Timroy Allen, making a comeback into the national squad fold after an absence of over 2 years due to personal commitments.

USA will be competing against Canada, Bermuda and Cayman Islands in a double round-robin group stage format to stake claim on one of the two available spots from the region into the Global Qualifiers in Oct/Nov 2019 in UAE.

The chosen squad members took part in inter-squad matches in the past few weeks, while the likes of Hayden Walsh and Ali Khan were busy in their stints for their respective franchises in GT20 Canada.
