USA Cricket have announced that their Women’s Under 19’s team are going to travel to the Caribbean in January 2022, as they play against Windward Islands U19 Women’s team in a series of four T20 matches from January 24th – 28th. The series has been arranged after discussions with both the Windward Islands Cricket Board and the St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) Cricket Association were fruitful, which is also part of the long-term strategic partnership that USA Cricket has with Cricket West Indies (CWI).
The series will provide opportunities for the players, who performed well during the National U19 Championship tournament held couple of months ago, apart from some of the players also representing USA Women in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Americas regional qualifiers in Mexico in October 2021. The series will also be crucial as ICC U19 Women World Cup regional qualifiers are also expected to take place in 2022/2023.
