The collaboration between Trinidad & Tobago and Kolkata Knight Riders has often paves the way for player exchange between the franchises when the respective T20 leagues auctions or the main event takes place.

What’s more interesting that this year in 2018 CPL, KKR’s owner Shahrukh Khan himself landed in the Caribbean along with Venky Mysore to lend his support to his sister concern franchise, Trinbago Knight Riders.

The collaboration between the franchises saw Canada’s Hamza Tariq enlisting himself for the IPL Auctions in 2018, while USA’s Ali Khan is currently building up an impressive repertoire to not only get noticed but even might get picked up in 2019 IPL Auctions.

An impressive Title wining stint with TKR in 2018 CPL has only strengthened his position to be a good pick in the actions to be held on 18th Dec 2018. Ali Khan is among the two Associate member nation players shortlisted in the final list of players to be announced during the auctions. And to think all this would have happened in a year’s time after being sidelined due to injury is a great piece of story in itself. And in the neighbouring country, Canada is where it all started to fall in place.

The return from injury started with a stint with Winnipeg Hawks in the recently concluded Global T20 Canada, where Ali Khan finished as the 9th highest wicket-taker with 10 scalps from 8 matches in the tournament so far, which saw him the opportunity come up with Trinbago Knight Riders and he has grasped the chance with both hands so far and looks to even further his reach into other Global T20 leagues. With connections as strong as Knight Riders, it wouldn’t be far fetched idea to actually see in in IPL in 2019.

Ali finished as joint #3 in the wicket-takers list in 2018 CPL standing along with South Africa’s Imran Tahir with 16 wickets in 12 matches.

Ali Khan has already been picked up to play in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL T20) in Jan/Feb 2019 and with USA also having a busy year ahead with T20 World Cup regional finals and ICC WCL Division 2, Ali’s stock might just keep going upwards with more opportunities to play throughout the year in various parts of the globe.
