Vanuatu bring more joy with Men’s T10 Super League in May 2020

After the resounding success of hosting the Women’s T20 Super League domestic competition in Apr 2020, Vanuatu Cricket are set to bring more live cricket to the world, as they announce the Men’s T10 domestic Super League tournament in May 2020.

With the live streaming of the Women’s games and an exhibition T10 Men’s game reaching big numbers in viewership worldwide, Vanuatu Cricket CEO Shane Dietz have announced that the Men’s T10 Super League commencing May 21st will be live streamed globally as well. The Men’s T10 Super League replaces the originally planned 40-overs domestic tournament, which was scheduled to start the week after the resumption of cricket in the Asia-Pacific Island.

The tournament will be known as “BetBarter Vanuatu Blast” and will be contested by the top 3 men’s clubs in Vanuatu, namely Mele Tafea Bulls, Mighty Efate Panthers and Ifira Sharks. All teams will play each other thrice in the group-stages, before the top 2 teams meet in the final of the competition on 13th Jun 2020. Two matches will be played on each match day.

The Men’s national squad players got the opportunity to play an exhibition T10 game prior to Women’s matches and going by the result, lot of close contests will be expected in the T10 Super League. This will be the first time a T10 tournament is being organised at the domestic level in Vanuatu and all the matches will be played at Vanuatu Cricket Ground – Hybrid Oval.
