PNG Women’s team to compete in 2022 Toyota Australian Country Championships

Cricket Papua New Guinea (CPNG) Women’s national squad (The Lewas) are set to compete in the 2022 Toyota Australian Country Championships in Albury Wodonga from 05th – 12th April 2022 and will see The Lewas play against the Women’s teams from New South Wales Country, Cricket ACT and Queensland Country in both T20 and 50-overs formats.

PNG players have participated in the previous editions of the tournament as part of the ICC East Asia-Pacific combined team (comprising of players from Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Indonesia and Japan) and have also won the title in the 2020 edition of the tournament held in Toowoomba, where they won against South Australia Country team in the final.
