Bermuda players back in domestic action in 2022 BCB Athene T20 League

Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB) have announced the start of their 2022 T20 tournaments to be played across the Premier and First Division leagues from 14th August with participation from 13 member clubs over a period of 12 weeks, and for the first time the two finalists and the club finishing 3rd in both the divisions will be awarded prize money sponsored by Athene Life Re. 

The Premier Division of Athene T20 League will comprise of teams from Cleveland County, Western Stars, Somerset, Warwick, Southampton Rangers, St George’s and Bailey’s Bay, while the First Division will comprise of teams from Devonshire Rec, Willow Cuts, Flatts, St David’s, PHC and Somerset Bridge. Steven Douglas, BCB Cricket Committee chairman said “On behalf of the Cricket Committee and members of the BCB, I would like to thank Athene for the opportunity for us to work together. I hope this partnership will work for the betterment of both parties. The new BCB Athene T20 is the start of preparation for the Bermuda national team looking to qualify for the ICC T20 World Cup. There will be double-headers at three venues every weekend. Come out and support your teams.”
