Malaysian Cricket Association (MCA) will be hosting Men’s teams from Maldives, Thailand and Bhutan in a T20I quadrangular tournament from July 03rd – 11th, 2022. These will be the first International matches for all the participating teams except the host’s in the 2022 season.
Maldives and Thailand will be back in International action for the first time since February/March 2020, when they took part in their respective regional (Eastern and Western) qualifier events for Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Asia Cup. Bhutan’s last T20I game came during the South Asian Games held in Nepal in December 2019, where they played their first two (2) T20Is with Nepal and Bhutan. Bhutan national squad members are taking part currently in their domestic T20 Smash tournament at home, while Maldives squad will be travelling to Sri Lanka for a training camp involving six (6) practice matches at Panadura Esplanade and De Soysa Park Stadium, before travelling to Malaysia for the series.
