Gibraltar Cricket and European Cricket Network (ECN) will be organizing the inaugural Women’s T10 International series in February 2023, as Women’s team from Netherlands, Italy and Sweden will take part in the competition from February 20th – 26th at the Europa Sports complex.
All the teams will play against each other in a double round-robin group stage format. It’s a big season for Women’s cricket in the European region, as an expanded qualification pathway tournament system has been put in place, which will see teams from Sweden and Italy compete to qualify for the next Women’s T20 World Cup. The Europa Sports complex has already hosted the first ECS T10 (Men’s) event for this year in the region, and the Women’s tournament will only elevate the appeal to the local audiences to see their Women’s national team compete with other teams. This will be the first International event for Women’s teams from Italy and Sweden after their previous engagement back in November 2022 during the Women’s T20I Winter series held in Spain.
