Qatar Cricket to host Men’s Gulf Cricket Championship T20 in September 2023

Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) will be hosting the Men’s National teams from United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia for the inaugural edition of Men’s Gulf T20I Championship (Gulf Cricket Championship) at Doha from September 15th – 20th, 2023. In January 2023, members of all the six (6) Cricket Boards met with each other at the ECB (Emirates Cricket Board) office at ICC Academy during the ILT20 tournament and held discussions with regards to Gulf bi-lateral tournaments & T20I Championships in the categories of Men’s, Women’s and Juniors in order to further grow and develop the game in the region. The Men’s tournament will be the first one to take place along the new arrangement between the Board, although a stand-alone Women’s Gulf T20I Tournament did take place in Oman in March 2022.

Qatar Cricket are also scheduled to host one of the Asian sub-regional qualifiers towards qualification for Asia Qualifier (Finals) for 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup in September-end 2023, where three (3) of the teams from this event including the host’s (along with Kuwait and Saudi Arabia) will be taking part.
