Tanzania Cricket to host 2024 ICC U19 Men’s World Cup Africa Qualifier

Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) have been awarded the hosting rights for the 2024 edition of ICC U19 Men’s World Cup Africa Division 1 qualifier tournament, and it will take place from July 23rd – 29th, 2023 across two venues in Dar-es Salaam, the Dar Gymkhana Club Ground and the University of Dar-es Salaam (UDSM). The six (6) nation event will see U19 teams from Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Uganda compete for the lone qualification spot into the main event of the World Cup in Sri Lanka. U19 teams of Kenya, Nigeria and Sierra Leone qualified from the Division 2 qualifier tournament held in Nigeria in September/October 2022.

Africa U19 qualifiers have given four (4) different participants in each of the U19 World Cup editions held since 2016 until 2022 (Namibia U19 (2016), Kenya U19 (2018), Nigeria U19 (2020) and Uganda U19 (2022)).
