Cricket Association of Thailand (CAT) will be hosting the Asia Cup Rising Stars Women’s T20 tournament from February 13th – 22nd. CAT will be hosting the Women’s A teams of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, while the Senior teams from the host’s, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Nepal and Malaysia will be competing with them for the Title. The tournament replaces the ACC Women’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup tournament, whose inaugural edition was held in Hong Kong, China in June 2023, which was won by India A Women’s team.
Group A will feature teams of India A, Pakistan A, UAE and Nepal, while Group B will feature teams of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Malaysia. The top two (2) teams in the points table after the conclusion of the single round-robin group stage format, will advance to the Semifinals. The tournament will have T20 List-A status, and the matches involving only the Associate members with themselves, will be played with T20I status, and will have ICC team ranking points on offer.
