Rwanda’s national women’s squad have registered a hard-fought series draw over Nigeria’s women’s squad (2-2) at home in the 5-match T20I series. The series was the return leg of the bi-lateral arrangement made between the two cricket boards, after Rwanda toured Nigeria in Jan 2019 for a 5-match series, which Nigeria won 3-2 at the time. All matches were official T20I games and were played at Gahanga International Stadium, Kigali.
After Rwanda won the opening game, the 2nd game ended in a tie (although there was no official word available with regards to the super over, as Rwanda Cricket Association are claiming win in the match and the series 3-2, which would imply that they won the 2nd game, which can only happen if Nigeria Women did not participate in the super over or over a forfeit). Nigeria registered back-to-back victories in the 3rd and 4th game, before the host’s came back strongly to win the final match of the series.
