Jersey’s T20 Premier League kick-starts in Jul 2020

Jersey Cricket Board (JCB) have announced the launch of their domestic cricket’s T20 premier league, to get underway from 04th Jul 2020 onward and will take place on weekends. Cricket activities resumed in the Channel Island nation in the middle of Jun 2020, with the cricket board organizing trial games at Farmer’s Cricket Club ground with safety protocols in place.

The T20 premier league, sponsored by Jersey Post, will see ATF St Ouen Springfield Cricket Club, Farmers Caesareans Cricket Club, Rathbones OV’s Cricket Club and RGA Walkovers Cricket Club compete in the competition, with all of them in action on 04th Jul 2020 in the first round of games. Jersey Post are also running the Fantasy Cricket competition for the T20 League and registrations can be done for as low as £5 to enter the contest and create the league. All rules and regulations for the Fantasy Cricket competition are available on the website and the Fantasy League is available for play worldwide.

The T20 league will see the four clubs play each other in a double round-robin format, following which the eliminator game between the 2nd/3rd placed teams and the final between the 1st placed team and the winner of the eliminator game will be played on 01st Aug 2020. Similarly, the 1st and 2nd division T20 leagues will also start from 04th and 05th Jul respectively and conclude within a month’s time.

The clubs played pre-season T20 warm-up games at Farmers Cricket Club ground, as Farmers Cricket Club hosted St Ouen Springfield and Walkovers CC on 29th Jun 2020.
