Tanzania Cricket to host final round of CWC Challenge League Group B in August 2026

Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) will be hosting the third (3rd) and the final round 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Challenge League Group B from August 08th – 17th, 2026, at the University of Dar es Salaam Ground 1 and Ground 2 in Dar-es-Salaam. TCA will host the Men’s National teams of Bahrain, Hong Kong-China, Italy, Singapore and Uganda in the last of the three (3) scheduled rounds for both the groups, at the conclusion of which the top two (2) teams from both the groups will advance to the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off tournament.

Uganda and Italy are well placed in the group after the conclusion of the first two (2) rounds, with Hong Kong, China being the next closest competitor to both, with Bahrain at a very distant fourth place. If both Uganda and Italy manage a good third (3rd) round and finish the group in top two (2) spots, then they will become the 26th and 27th Team to play Men’s ODI status matches (Jersey became the 25th Nation after the previous cycle of CWC Challenge League) in the 2027 ICC CWC Qualifier play-off tournament. Host’s Tanzania and Singapore are already out of contention for a shot at the top 2 finish.

Malawi Cricket Union will be hosting the Men’s National teams of Rwanda and Zambia for a T20 International Tri-series tournament (with ICC T20I team ranking points) from August 11th – 15th, 2026, at the TCA Oval in Blantyre. This series will see the first-ever meeting in Men’s T20Is between the teams of Malawi and Zambia. The teams will play each other in a triple round-robin group stage format, before the top two (2) teams in the points table compete for the Title.

Cricket Namibia to host Women’s T20I Quadrangular in July 2026

Cricket Namibia (CN) will be hosting the Women’s National teams of Uganda, Tanzania and Hong Kong-China for a Women’s Quadrangular T20 tournament (with ICC T20I team ranking points) from July 21st – 30th, 2026, at the FNB National Cricket ground and HP oval in Windhoek. This will be the second (2nd) time Hong Kong-China Women will be travelling for a Quadrangular T20I series in Namibia, with the previous visit coming in 2023, where they competed against the hosts’, Uganda and UAE.

With the second (2nd) edition of ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy this year-end to feature only five (5) Associate Member Teams along with five (5) Full Member Teams, the likes of Namibia, Uganda and Tanzania, who featured in the inaugural edition last year in Thailand, will be missing out in this edition, and hence, this Quadrangular series will provide them the opportunity to play against each other and reduce the points gap to UAE and Netherlands in the rankings table.

Guernsey Cricket will be hosting the 2028 ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Europe Division 2 Qualifier from July 24th – 30th, 2026, across four (4) venues at Port Soif, College Field, King George V Playing Fields and Memorial Fields. Men’s National teams from Guernsey, Belgium, France, Germany, Isle of Man, Italy, Sweden and Switzerland will be competing in the Division 2 Qualifier for two (2) qualification spots into the Europe Qualifier next year, where they will join with Scotland, Netherlands, Jersey and Denmark.

Malaysia Cricket to host ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier in July 2026

Malaysian Cricket Association (MCA) will be hosting the 2027 ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier from July 21st – 30th, 2026. MCA will be hosting the U19 Women’s teams of Bhutan, Thailand, Kuwait, Myanmar, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Hong Kong-China and Qatar in the eight (8)-nation event, from which the winner of the tournament will qualify for the main event, to be co-hosted by Bangladesh Cricket and Nepal Cricket next year.

All the teams will benefit from the fact, that they are already present in Malaysia, having competed in the recently concluded ACC U19 Women’s Premier Cup tournament. At the conclusion of the single round-robin group stage (two (2) groups of four (4) teams each), the top two (2) teams from both the groups will advance to the semi-finals, while the remaining four (4) teams will compete in the play-off matches.

Cricket Finland to host 2028 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Sub-regional Qualifier C in August 2026

The International Cricket Council (ICC) have announced the Europe qualification pathway for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2028, featuring three (3) sub-regional qualification events (Sub-regional Qualifier A, Sub-regional Qualifier B and Sub-regional Qualifier C) to be staged across Cyprus, Denmark and Finland in 2026. Cricket Finland return to host another Europe Sub-Regional Qualifier, building on the legacy of having hosted two (2) European Sub-regional qualifier events in 2022.

Cricket Finland will be hosting Men’s National teams of Bulgaria, Czechia, Germany, Greece, Isle of Man, Israel, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain in Qualifier C from August 14th – 21st, 2026. The teams have been divided into two (2) groups, and will follow a single round-robin group stage format, followed by the Semifinals and the FINAL. The winner of the qualifier will join Scotland, Jersey and Denmark in the European Qualifier for two (2) qualification spots into the Global Qualifier, as per the updated structure announced by ICC after their Annual General Meeting in July 2026 in Scotland.

Eight Qualification spots from 2028 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier

For the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2028 qualification pathway, Scotland will enter directly into the Europe Regional Final, recognising the exceptional circumstances surrounding its participation in the 2026 tournament. The remaining teams that competed at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 but did not secure automatic qualification will advance directly to the Global Qualifier. The other eight (8) places in the Global Qualifier will be filled through regional qualification, with two (2) teams each qualifying from Africa, Asia and Europe, and one team each from the Americas and East Asia-Pacific regions.

The highest placed team from each region at the Global Qualifier, together with the next three (3) highest-placed teams overall, will qualify for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2028, subject to minimum performance criteria.

The teams that have directly qualified for the Global Qualifier are Netherlands, Nepal, Italy, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Namibia, United States of America, Canada and Papua New Guinea (EAP Qualifier winner).

The new marquee tournament has been endorsed by the Board after being recommended by the ICC Development and Chief Executives’ Committees. However, it will be finally approved by the Board after review by ICC’s Finance & Commercial Affairs committee in the November meetings.

Four spots from Global Qualifiers into 2027 Men’s Cricket World Cup

The qualification pathway for the fourteen (14)-team ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 was confirmed by International Cricket Council (ICC) with ten (10) teams gaining automatic qualification. The ten (10) will comprise South Africa and Zimbabwe as Full Member host’s and the next eight (8) highest ranked teams on the ICC MRF Tyres ODI Rankings at the cut-off date of 31st March 2027. The remaining four (4) teams will qualify via the ICC CWC Global Qualifier set to take place in April/May 2027, which might see Namibia Men qualify to play in (depending upon their final finishing positions in the qualification pathway events), who are also co-hosting the event along with South Africa and Zimbabwe.

The top four (4) teams in the points table from CWC League 2 ODI Championship will qualify directly for the CWC Qualifier. They will be joined in the CWC Qualifier by four (4) teams coming through the CWC Qualifier Play-Offs as well as teams (2 of them) that don’t qualify automatically based on ICC ODI Rankings. The CWC Qualifier Play-off tournament (which will be played with ODI status) will comprise of the bottom four (4) teams in the CWC League 2 ODI Championship and the top two (2) teams from both Groups A and B from CWC Challenge League. The top four (4) teams in the Qualifier will then join the ten (10) direct qualifiers in the World Cup (Co-hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe and the other top eight ranked teams) in the fourteen (14) team Cricket World Cup lineup.

The teams ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the Qualifier will compete in a single round-robin group stage format in Round 1 in the World Cup, from which the Top team will advance to Round 2, which will have twelve (12) teams divided into two (2) groups of six (6) teams each. The top three (3) teams from both the groups, along with the next highest placed team across both groups qualify for the Super 7 stage. The Super 7 stage will be a single round-robin group stage format, following which the top four (4) teams will qualify for the Semifinals.

Jersey Cricket to host Nepal and UAE Men for OD series in July 2026

Jersey Cricket will be hosting the Men’s National teams of Nepal and United Arab Emirates in separate bi-lateral One-day series in July 2026, comprising of two (2) matches each, at the at NCC Grainville cricket ground. Nepal Men will play their matches with the host on 13th and 15th, before travelling to Netherlands for Round 20 of 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 ODI Championship.

The fixtures between UAE and the hosts’ will be taking place on 27th and 29th. UAE Team will then travel to Scotland for Round 21 of 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 ODI Championship. Jersey and Nepal will be meeting for the first time in the 50-overs format, and the matches are eligible for List-A status, after the ICC update was announced on 01st June 2026 regarding Challenge League participating teams being allowed to play List-A status matches outside of only the Challenge League rounds.

Jersey and UAE have already met once in ODIs, during the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off Tournament held in Namibia.

Netherlands Cricket Board (KNCB) will be hosting the Men’s National Teams of Nepal and Namibia for an ODI Tri-series from July 21st – 31st, 2026, which will be the twentieth (20th) round of the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 cycle (Qualification pathway tournament towards 2027 CWC Global Qualifier). Top four (4) after completion of 36 ODIs for all in the CWC League 2 Championship will qualify directly for 2027 Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier (CWCQ). Bottom four (4) teams in the points table will then compete in CWC Qualifier Play-off tournament, along with four (4) teams from the Challenge League competitions (Top 2 teams from both groups) for four (4) spots in CWCQ.

As per the original Men’s Associate FTP, T20Is (either a Tri-series or Bi-lateral) were scheduled as part of each Tri-series in the CWC League 2 ODI Championship, but it depends on the participating boards on their own arrangements, as it is not part of ICC funding.
