China Women’s cricket team have beaten Korea Women’s cricket team 2-1 in the 3-match T20I series being hosted at Yeonhui Cricket Ground in Incheon, Korea, on the former’s tour to the country.
The 1st T20I match was played on 03rd Nov 2018 while the remaining two T20I matches were played on 04th Nov 2018. The matches have been given T20I status as depicted in the ICC website.
A staggering amount of 74 runs came through extras bowled by both China Women (41) & Korea Women (33) in the first T20I game, and it continued in the 2nd T20I as well with Korea Women (29) & China Women (38) contributing 67 runs in the entire match, given away in extras. The 1st match extras stat is now the official world record for most extras given away in an Women’s T20I match, surpassing 70, which came in the match between Botswana Women & Lesotho Women match in the Botswana 7s Women’s T20I tournament held in Aug 2018. Also, the 2nd match stat of most extras in a match now sits in the 3rd position in the overall Women’s T20I records.
No respite in the 3rd match of the series as well with China Women (38) & Korea Women (22) notching up 60 runs in the entire match, given away in extras. That brings the series total of extras given away amounting to 201 runs in 3 matches!!
Among the players, Zhang Chan & Han Li Li were the top run-scorers for China Women with Li Hao Yue the most successful bowler for them with 5 wickets in 3 matches. Mi Na Baek put up some good all-round performances for Korea Women in the series.
