Oman Cricket (OC) have announced the 15-member men’s national squad, that will take part in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers from Oct 18th – Nov 02nd, 2019 in UAE. The squad will also play in the 5-nation T20I tournament from Oct 05th – 10th before the qualifiers, where they play against the Ireland, Hong Kong, Netherlands and Nepal to prepare for the ICC tournament.
Oman are grouped alongside UAE, Ireland, Hong Kong, Canada, Jersey and Nigeria in Group B of the qualifiers. Top team from each group will move to the semi-final of the tournament, securing direct qualification to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020, with three more teams from each group featuring in qualification play-offs to determine the other four qualifiers.
Oman squad members were recently in action in the opening round of CWC League 2 championship in Scotland, where they registered good results against Papua New Guinea and Scotland.
