The Inaugural edition of the European Cricket Association (ECA) Men’s European Championships 2026 tournament from July 20th – 30th, 2026, at the Moara Vlasiei cricket ground in Bucharest. Men’s National teams from Austria, France Cricket, Romania, Turkiye, and Israel will be competing in the marquee tournament of the ECA, with the Women’s European Championships also penciled in for September 2026 in Austria.
All the teams will play against each other in a single round-robin group stage format, following which, the top four (4) teams in the points table will advance to the semifinals stage of the competition.
Established in 2024 during the ICC Annual General Meeting in Colombo, the ECA now comprises fourteen (14) Associate Cricket Boards from across the region as its members. The founding Cricket Boards in the ECA were France Cricket, Romania, Malta, Jersey, Austria and Italy. ECA functions as a continental coordination body, providing a formal framework for cooperation between its member federations in matters relating to governance, competitions, development and strategic growth.

Just half of the members participating. Though, great for some team as they will be, especially Israel, will be playing, perhaps, for the first time outside the WC qualifiers. Hope ECA could become fully authorised to administer cricket in Europe like ACC or ACA
Why is France listed as France Cricket? Will their matches not carry T20i status?

The French Sports Ministry stripped France Cricket of its authority to govern the sport, indicating that there may be no recognized national cricket authority in France for the foreseeable future. Hence, the Team will be known as “France Cricket” in all matches. The matches will have ranking points.
