International stars light up opening day action at Houston Open

Houston Open T20 tournament is an USA cricket sanctioned event, being played at Prairie View complex in Texas from April 14th – 18th.

Many International stars including the likes of Dane Piedt, Corey Anderson, Rahkeem Cornwall, Sherfane Rutherford, Nitish Kumar, Sami Aslam, Rohan Mustafa, Basant Regmi, Shehan Jayasuriya and others from USA national squad and domestic players from West Indies have turned up for their respective franchises for the tournament.

The 16-team tournament is being played in four groups of four teams each in a single round-robin group stage format, before the top two teams from each group advance to the knock-out stage of thel tournament.

Some of the players from New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan and Sri Lanka featuring in the competition will also be playing in USA Cricket’s Minor League Cricket competition in 2021, with a view to get the opportunity to play in Major League Cricket competition in 2022.
