Scotland women to tour Ireland for T20I series in May 2021

Women’s national squad of Scotland will be travelling to Belfast in Ireland in May 2021 to play a series of four T20I matches.

The matches being played on 23rd, 24th, 26th and 27th will mark International cricket return for the countries, as both Ireland and Scotland players have been playing domestic cricket at home and games in England (Scotland “A” consisting of players named in the senior squad played matches in ECB North region group in the T20 competition in April and May 2021) towards end of April, as International cricket has remained absent due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

Scotland squad will be led by Kathryn Bryce, which also includes the likes of Sarah Bryce, Abtaha Maqsood and Abbi Aitken-Drummond, who were not part of the “A” squad, which played T20 games in the ECB Women County Championships North region group in April and May 2021.

Head coach Mark Coles said in the press release “It’s been a long wait for the players and I know they can’t wait to get out there again. We’ve got a good mix of youth and experience in the team so this will be a good yardstick for me to see where we are currently and the work that lies ahead of us as we head into World Cup and Commonwealth Games qualifiers.”
