Cricket Kenya have announced the U19 squad for the upcoming ICC U19 Cricket World Cup Africa Division 1 qualifiers, to be hosted by Namibia from Mar 17th – 23rd, 2019 at Windhoek.
Kenya will be competing alongside U19 team’s from host’s Namibia, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria & Sierra Leone in a single round-robin group stage format for one qualification spot from the African region into the main draw of 2020 ICC U19 Cricket World Cup in South Africa.
Kenya and Namibia (Automatic qualifiers, being the top Associate member finish in 2016 U19 CWC) were the two African representatives in the 2018 ICC U19 CWC in New Zealand, but neither managed to finish in top 11 to secure their place in the 2020 edition.
