Oman Cricket (OC) will be hosting the Men’s team from Kuwait and Bahrain for a five (5)-match T20I series from 11th – 17th of August, following the conclusion of which the Kuwait Men’s team will stay on to take part in the 2022 Men’s Asia Cup qualifiers from August 21st – 25th, 2022. This will be the first time the Bahrain Men’s team will be in action since the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Global qualifier in Oman in February 2022, where they registered a historic win over UAE during the competition’s group stages.
Kuwait Men’s team qualified for the Asia Cup qualifiers back in 2020 from the ACC Western T20 event held in UAE, however, the event faced postponement due to COVID-19 pandemic, and now will be taking place in Oman, where they will compete against Hong Kong, Singapore and UAE for a spot into the main draw of the Asia Cup, where teams from India and Pakistan are already placed in their group. The previous meeting of these two countries came during the semifinal of ACC Western region T20 tournament held in February 2020 in Oman, where Kuwait registered a win and qualified for the Asia Cup qualifier.
