Nepal ace high-scoring chase to end U19 Asia Cup campaign with a win

Of the three Associate member countries taking part in the ongoing ACC U19 Asia Cup in Bangladesh, there was opportunity for either one of the countries (UAE or Nepal) to come back home with a win on their name and on the day, Nepal U19 got the better of UAE U19 in a high-scoring chase to register their only win in the tournament, while UAE and Hong Kong remained win-less in the tournament.

Nepal U19 will now have to wait until 2019 for U19 World Cup Asia Division 1 tournament, while UAE U19 and Hong Kong U19 will be in action again in Dec 2018, when they take part in the 10-nation U19 World Cup Asia Division 2 tournament in Thailand.

Fahad Nawaz (107 runs in 3 matches), Ansh Tandon (95 runs in 3 matches) and Muhammad Ali (81 runs in 3 matches) were the top run-scorers for UAE U19 while Aaron Benjamin and Kartik Meiyappan picked up 4 wickets each in 3 matches.

Rohit Paudel (161 runs in 3 matches), Sundeep Jora (87 runs in 3 matches) and Asif Sheikh (80 runs in 3 matches) were the top run-scorers for Nepal U19 while Rasid Khan and Surya Tamang picked up 5 wickets each in 3 matches.

Haroon Arshad (52 runs in 3 matches) and Adit Gorawara (30 runs in 3 matches) were the top run-scorers for Hong Kong U19 while Nasrulla Rana (5 wickets in 3 matches) was the stand-out performer with the ball.
