Scotland rode on a whirlwind innings by George Munsey, who scored 96 from 43 balls, and shared an 4th wicket partnership of 141 along with Ritchie Berrington (72) to power Scotland to 303/5 and then managed to hold off Oman to 288/8 to register a 15-run win to clinch the 3-match OD series 2-1 to cap off a triumphant tour of Oman, where they also won the T20I quadrangular series prior to the OD series.

MVS Michal (34), Sandeep Goud (49), Khurram Nawaz (30) and Fayyaz Butt (45) kept Oman right in the hunt till the end but fell short of the total as some late hitting by Badal Singh and Kaleemullah was not enough to take Oman to their 2nd consecutive victory over Scotland, after a spirited comeback in the 2nd match locked the series at a win apiece after Oman’s embarrassing outing in the first game of the series.

While Oman move onto ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Division 3 in Apr 2019 in Namibia, Scotland’s next assignments will see them take on Afghanistan at the Grange on 8th and 10th May, before Sri Lanka visit the same venue on 18th and 21st May for 2-match ODI series each.

From the bowling front, Safyaan Sharif (6 wickets), Adrian Neill (5 wickets), Ruaidri Smith and Alasdair Evans (4 wickets each) combined well across the 2 matches each for all the four of them during the series. For Oman, it was an opportunity for Duleep Mendis to see the depth of the squad as regular captain Zeeshan Mqasood and key batsman Aaqib Ilyas missed both the T20I and OD series due to injuries. Khurram Nawaz (82 runs in 3 matches) and Jatinder Singh (87 runs in 3 matches) starred with the bat during the series.
