St Helena announce squad for WorldT20 & Africa T20 qualifiers in Botswana

St Helena have announced a 18-member squad, which will travel to Botswana to take part in ICC World T20 Africa Group “C” qualifiers and Africa Cricket Association Africa T20 Southern regional qualifiers in Oct 2018 and Nov 2018 respectively.

St Helena Head coach Mo Mathers, who has travelled to the country in the past couple of months along with captain, Scott Crowie, selected the squad from the pool of 28 players, who registered for the training sessions.

St Helena will be competing against the host’s Botswana, along with Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland and Zambia in the 8-nation qualifiers, from which the top 2 teams will advance to Africa regional finals in 2019 for ICC World T20 in 2020 in Australia from 28th Oct – 03rd Nov, 2018.

Following the conclusion of the event, all teams will stay back in Botswana to compete in the Southern region qualifiers for ACA Africa T20 Cup from 5th – 12th Nov 2018. Top 2 teams will advance to the Africa T20 tournament, slated to be held in 2019 in Nairobi, Kenya.
