It is official now. Cricket USA, formed in 2017, has been approved with Associate status to become to 105th member under International Cricket Council (ICC) with immediate effect.
USA’s application in accordance with the ICC Constitution was approved by ICC Members after the recommendation of ICC Membership Committee. Cricket USA is now eligible to receive funding as part of the ICC Development funding policy and are now allowed to sanction both domestic and international competition/tournaments in USA.
ICC Chief Executive, David Richardson said on ICC website “This is the culmination of a great deal of hard work and I would like to congratulate the Chair of USA Cricket, Paraag Marathe, and the Board, on this important milestone and wish them all the very best for the future.”
Team USA have an exciting 2019 up ahead with ICC WCL Division 2 and T20 World Cup Americas regionals qualifiers, while USA U19 have the Americas Division 1 qualifiers for 2020 ICC U19 World Cup and the Women’s team have the Americas regional qualifiers for Women’s World Cup & T20 World Cup.
