Six teams will take part in the opening tournament, namely the hosts Sporting Alfas, Intellectuals (Alicante), La Manga, Levante (Valencia), Madrid United and the Pinatar Pirates. Dream11 European Cricket Series in Spain will kick-off a 20-week programme throughout the year, including 400 matches from 100 matchdays of exciting T10 cricket all across Europe, with Cricket Belgium also announced as the venue for the series in Jul 2020.

Sporting Alfas, Pinatar Pirates, La Manga CC and Madrid United took part in the Spanish Regional T10 midweek league from Jan 20th – 24th, 2020, at Woodbridge Oval, and the Spanish national players will be in action, as they look forward towards selection in the national squad for their upcoming T20I matches against Germany at home in Mar 2020. Intellectuals of Alicante and Pinatar Pirates played two pre-season matches at Bonalba, with a thirty over match followed by a T10 game.

Faran Afzal, along with 18-year-old Jack Perman and bowler Waqar Ashraf, who took 11 wickets including a hat-trick in the Spanish regional T20 tournament in Jan 2019 will be the players to watch out for the Alfas. Sukhpal “Sukhi” Singh and Kuldeep Lal will be the main players to watch from Pinatar Pirates.

Intellectuals, who were playing second division cricket in Spain last season, will be banking on players like Ismail Baig and Usman Mirza.
