Dhaka T20 Premier League to test domestic players in T20 format

Dhaka Premier League, which had been postponed since March 2020, will finally commence from 31st May 2021 in a bio-secure environment and will be played in the T20 format for the first time. This is the first time the traditional 50-over tournament will be held as a T20 competition, where 12 teams will play in double headers at each of the matchdays at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, BKSP grounds 3 and 4.

The 12 clubs participating in Dhaka Premier League T20 tournament include Abahani Limited, Brothers Union, Gazi Group Cricketers, Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity, Legends of Rupganj, Mohammedan Sporting Club, Old DOHS Sports Club, Partex Sporting Club, Prime Bank Cricket Club, Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and Shinepukur Cricket Club.

The 2019-20 season was postponed on March 19th, 2020 after just one completed round of matches in compliance with measures taken due to COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament schedule and results can be viewed here.
