Namibia win high-scoring chase against Border in CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge

Namibia aced a high-scoring chase against Border in South Africa’s CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge at East London on 21st Jan 2018.

After being in a precarious position at 69/5 chasing 285 for victory, Jan Frylinck at No.7 smashed an unbeaten knock of 126 from 105 deliveries to clinch a thriller of a match against Border.

Gerhard Erasmus (32 off 38), Sarel Burger (22 off 33) & JJ Smit (25 n.o off 29) provided crucial support down the order to help Frylinck take Namibia to victory.

Earlier, Namibia restricted Border to 284/7 on a good batting deck with Sinethemba Qeshile top-scoring with 67 runs and Gerhardt Abrahams (54 off 81) also getting amongst the runs.

Abrahams & Gionne Koopman (46 off 63) provided the perfect start to Border’s innings with a 108-runs partnership for the opening wicket. Namibian bowlers come back in the middle overs to restrict them to 185/5 in the 40th over but Avumile Mnci (35 n.o off 27) boosted the scoring in the final overs to end at 284 in their 50 overs.

JJ Smit was the pick of the bowlers taking 2/63 while Sarel Burger, Jan Frylinck, Bernard Scholtz & Tangeni Lungameni picking up a wicket apiece.
