The first unofficial Youth ODI between Bangladesh U-19 and Nepal U-19 turned out to be a low scoring thriller.

Bangladesh restricted Nepal U-19 to 153/9 in their 50 overs after their opening bowlers, Hasan Mahmud (3/32) and Kazi Anik Islam (3/27) removed the top order batting line-up with Nayeem Hasan (2/29) continuing where they had left off.

Aasif Sheikh (32 off 77), Bhim Sharki (28 off 46), Pawan Sarraf (19 off 51) and Anil Kumar Sah (18 off 34) got amongst the runs for Nepal U-19.

Nepal bowlers did not have too many to defend and knew their only chance was to get Bangladesh out within their total. And they did well led by a superb spell of 4/25 off 10 overs from Sandeep Lamichhane. However, Bangladesh U-19 prevailed and managed to reach 154/7 in 39 overs to win the match by 3 wickets. Shahab Alam (1/28 off 10) too impressed very much giving good support to Sandeep.

For Bangladesh, Naim Sheikh (53 off 65) held off the Nepali challenge at the top but it was the partnership of 28 unbeaten runs for the 8th wicket between Towhid Hridly (48 n.o off 66) and Kazi Anik Islam (18 n.o off 15), which took their team to victory in the end.
