Oman beat Titans Academy by big margin in South Africa

Oman National squad are currently based in Pretoria, South Africa, as part of their preparatory camp before they head to Namibia for ICC WCL Division 2 from Feb 08th – 15th, 2018.

Oman faced Titans Academy in their first practice match on the tour of Pretoria, and won convincingly by 165 runs. Batting first, Oman posted 303/9 in their 50 overs and then restricted Titans to 138 all out in the 42nd over.

Major contributions from Vaibhav Wategaonkar (74 off 68) & Swapnil Khadye (64 off 69) during the Oman’s innings coupled with handy knocks from Zeeshan Maqsood (36 off 30), Ahmed Fayyaz Butt (31 n.o off 20), Jatinder Singh (27 off 38) and Jay Odedara (23 n.o off 15) took them to their final total on board.

B. Carlisle (4/23) and S. Patel (2/67) were the pick of the bowlers for Titans Academy.

In reply, Titans Academy got a good start from A. Moller and C. Benjamin to take the score till 61 when the Oman spinners came onto the attack and had immediate success as they started picking wickets in a pile. Benjamin (42 off 47) top-scored for Titans with Jay Odedara picking up 4 wickets and got good support from Zeeshan Maqsood (3/15) and Khawar Ali (2/22) as they registered a big margin victory to start their preparatory camp on a good note.
