Seventh edition of Shpageeza Cricket League in Sep 2020 in Kabul

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) have announced that the seventh edition of the domestic T20 tournament, Shpageeza Cricket League (SCL), will be held at Kabul International Stadium from Sep 06th – 16th, 2020. The broadcasting rights agreement for the tournament was bagged by National Radio Television of Afghanistan (RTA).

The tournament will see the six teams, namely Amo Sharks, Band-e Amir Dragons, Bost Defenders, Kabul Eagles, Mis Ainak Knights and Spinghar Tigers take part in the competition. Mis Ainak Kights are the defending Champions from the 2019 edition of the competition.

Afghanistan national squad members and probables have been part of the month-long training camp from Jun 08th, with intra-squad practice matches also held during the camp. The likes of Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Darwish Rasooli, Najeebullah Tarakai, Karim Janat, Sayed Shirzad, Asghar Afghan, Mujeeb Rahman and Mohammad Shahzad posted good individual performances during the T20 practice matches.

ACB CEO Mr. Lutfullah Stanikzai remarked, “High quality broadcasting of the league is our priority and I am pleased that ACB and RTA could collaborate again for the same purpose after a successful sixth edition last year.”
