Remember the Name and all that jazz as Zimbabwe A’s Cephas Zhuwao caused carnage in the middle as he smashed a 42-ball century to guide his team to a crushing victory over Kenya on the 1st match of the 5-match series.

After Kenya managed to post 219/8 in their 50 overs, the bowlers were taken apart in all parts of the ground as Zimbabwe A reached 221/4 in only 23.1 overs to win the match by 6 wickets and more than 26 overs to spare!!

Zhuwao smashed 131 runs from only 52 deliveries which included 13 sixes and 10 fours. Chamu Chibhabha (20 off 18) and Tarisai Musakanda (19 off 34) were mere spectators at the other end while Zhuwao went about his business. After he got out finally with Zimbabwe A at 174/2, Dhiren Gondaria (3/36) managed to pick up three wickets in quick succession but they had very little to defend after Zhuwao’s assault.

Earlier, handy contributions from Alex Obanda (30 off 67), Irfan Karim (30 off 53) & Rakep Patel (49 off 59) gave Kenya a good start but they lost their way in the middle overs as Zimbabwe A bowlers picked up regular wickets to peg them down.

A 62-runs partnership for the 7th wicket between Karan Kaul (48 n.o off 66) and Nelson Odhiambo (35 off 27) took Kenya past 200 to finish at 219/8. Richard Ngarava (3/32) was the pick of the bowlers for Zimbabwe A while Brian Vitori, Wellington Masakadza, Chamu Chibhabha & Chris Mpofu picked up a wicket apiece.
