Denmark to host Germany and Finland in T20I Tri-series in Aug 2020

Denmark Cricket Federation (DCF) will be hosting men’s squads from Finland and Germany from Aug 24th – 28th, 2020 in Copenhagen as part of a T20I Tri-series, to be known as the Nordic Cup, which will be the first International matches for all the three countries post relaxation of inter-country travel restrictions due to COVID-19 pandemic.

All three countries will play two T20I matches each against each other and few friendly matches are also being planned prior to the Tri-series. This will be Finland’s 2nd tour of Denmark in as many years after their previous tour in Jul 2019. Denmark and Germany last played against each other during ICC T20 World Cup Europe Regional finals event held in Jun 2019 in Guernsey, while Germany’s last tour to Denmark came in Jul 2018, when they played a 5-match T20 series.

Domestic cricket has already started in all the three countries, with Finland and Germany hosting T10 events in collaboration with European Cricket Network, apart from their regular T20 competitions. Denmark domestic season has also begun with their T20 competitions across all the divisions in the country.

Finland coach Matt Jenkinson will be announcing a 17-member squad for the series, while Germany coach Steven Knox will be taking a 15-member squad for the tour. Both Finland and Germany will be playing a T20 practice game each against Denmark on 25th Aug at Svanholm Park to prepare for the Tri-series.
