Former Sri Lankan player appointed as High Performance Director with Cricket Indonesia

Cricket Indonesia have appointed former first-class cricketer from Sri Lanka, Nuwan Shiroman as the High Performance Director for the national Men’s and Women’s squads.

Shiroman is a former first-class cricketer from Sri Lanka during the 1995-2011 period, having played in more than 100 first-class matches for teams like Galle, Tamil Union and Sri Lanka Air Force club in the domestic circuit.

Both Men’s and Women’s national squads are scheduled to take part in ICC East Asia-Pacific regional qualifiers for T20 World Cup tournaments in 2022 and 2023. Shiroman has emphasized on the needs to develop specific skills in the players based on their performances and also put a proper infrastructure in place for training purposes.

Currently, the R.P Singh Memorial Men’s T20 domestic tournament is happening in Indonesia, organized by Jakarta Cricket Association. The Women’s players were involved in the recently concluded Kartini Cup T20 tournament.
