Nepal will earn their T20I Team ranking in the ICC MRF Rankings table following their T20I match against Netherlands in the T20 Triangular tournament to be held at Lord’s Cricket Ground on 29th Jul 2018.
The ICC T20I Team rankings are based on results weighted from 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 calender years at 50% while results from 2014-2015 season are not taken into consideration.
Nepal, who are currently behind Ireland but without the official ranking, needed to play a minimum of 5 T20I games to get an official ranking. They have played 4 matches so far during the calculation period and with the match in the T20 Triangular to be held at Lord’s between them and Netherlands being granted T20I status by ICC, the result from that match will see them get their official T20I team ranking.
The top 10 team’s in the rankings on 31st Dec 2018 will qualify directly for 2020 ICC WorldT20 while the next best 6 team’s (who participated in 2016 ICC WorldT20 in India) go into the Global qualifiers.
