O’Brien brothers in EPLT20 very much a possibility

The whole of Nepal have been rejoicing on some really good news for cricket in the country in the last 24 hours.

First, it was the news that BCCI are going to formally invite Nepal’s U19 Team for an U19 Quadrangular series in Sep 2018 in India. Then came the news that their match against Netherlands in the MCC Triangular series will carry official #T20I status.

But the icing on the cake came when Everest Premier League franchise, Kathmandu Kings XI announced their signing of Ireland International Kevin O’ Brien for the 3rd edition of the league, the contract arranged by Kevin’s brother and his Ireland team-mate, Niall O’Brien.

Niall, however, is not too keen to travel to Nepal as a player in EPLT20, but confirmed to Czarsportz about his availability for any role related to coaching. It would be a welcome addition to any of the franchise’s coaching staff and management team, if any of them could acquire his services for a coaching stint.

Niall has represented Ireland in 30 T20I’s and has played 147 T20 matches in his career so far with stints in England’s T20 Blast and Bangladesh Premier League. He is currently playing for North West Warriors in Ireland’s domestic season.
