Uganda Cricket Association have announced the 14-member squad for the upcoming ICC World Cricket League (WCL) division 3 tournament, to be held in Oman from Nov 07th – 21st, 2018.
Uganda will be competing against the host’s along with Kenya, USA, Denmark and Singapore for two qualification spots into ICC WCL Division 2, to be played in 2019 and is the qualification pathway towards 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup in India.
Uganda qualified from ICC WCL Division 4 held in Malaysia in Apr 2018 into Division 3 along with Denmark and recently also had success in ICC World T20 Africa “B” qualifiers held in Rwanda. Uganda also took part in recently concluded Africa T20 Cup in South Africa where they won two group stage matches and after the event, followed it up by playing few 50-overs practice matches with clubs/team’s from Kwazulu Natal Inland.
