Qualification pathway announced for 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup

The qualification pathway for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 has been confirmed by International Cricket Council (ICC). Eight (8) teams will gain automatic qualification into the 2024 event, comprising the top three (3) teams from each of the two (2) groups in the 2023 event, plus the host nation, Bangladesh and Pakistan (the next highest ranked teams in the MRF Tyres ICC T20I Rankings on 27th February 2023).

The remaining two (2) teams will be identified through the Women’s T20 World Cup Global qualifier. The five (5) regional qualification pathway events will be held across 2023 and 2024, where eight (8) countries will try to get into the Global qualifier. With Bangladesh automatically set to play in the tournament, it frees up one spot from the Global qualifiers in which they have been taking part in the last four consecutive editions in Thailand (2015), Netherlands (2018), Scotland (2019) and UAE (2022) to qualify for the main event.
