Cricket Canada announce provisional dates for domestic season and Global T20 Canada

Cricket Canada have announced the provisional dates for the 2021 domestic season for both men’s and women’s, with dates also announced for the 3rd edition of Global T20 Canada. The domestic season and GT20 in 2020 was not held due to restrictions for COVID-19 pandemic.

All the announced tournaments are subject to necessary approvals from Federal and Provincial health authorities. Venues and grounds for the proposed domestic tournaments are yet to be finalized and will be updated in due course.

Brampton will host the 3rd edition of Global T20 Canada from June 24th – July 11th, 2021. The staging of the tournament will be crucial for Canadian players to prepare for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier, which is scheduled to take place from July 15th – 24th in Ontario.

The domestic T20 regional tournaments for both men’s and women’s will be conducted in May and June, with National Championships to take place in Ontario in June 2021 as well. Cricket Canada will organize the Canada Cup in the U18 age-category with an eye on the ICC Under 19 Men’s World Cup qualifier, scheduled to take place in USA from August 18th – 25th, 2021.
