Kenya bailed out by South Africa for 2018 Africa T20 Cup

Cricket Kenya have announced the 13-member squad, which will take part in the upcoming 2018 Africa T20 Cup in South Africa from Sep 14th – 16th, 2018.

Kenya are placed in Pool C in the 20-Team tournament (4 groups of 5 teams each) along with Namibia, Border, Eastern Province and Mpumalanga. All matches will be hosted by Border province at East London. The semi-finals and final will be played on Sep 23rd – 24th, 2018 respectively. The top team from each of the 4 groups in the tournament will advance to the semi-final stage.

With Cricket Kenya currently in a financial crisis, the participation of the team in the event was in doubt but Cricket South Africa (CSA) stepped in the final moments to provide the financial support for the team’s travel and accommodation issues. The Star Kenya have reported the entire chain of events which has unfolded in the past few days.

16th Sep 2018: vs Namibia @Buffalo Park, East London @9:30am
