USA Cricket have laid out the plans for the formation of the national squad set-up for the resumption of qualification pathway program towards 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup, with the League 2 event in Oman scheduled for March 19th – 28th, 2021.

An extended group of 44 players have been summoned for the Training Camp at the Prairie View Cricket Complex in Houston and a series of Team USA Selection Matches in February 2021. USA Cricket have also announced that the said camp and matches will take place only if it safe to do so, in line with their COVID-19 guidelines and protocols.

The final squad, that will represent USA in the League 2 tri-series in Oman in March 2021, will be selected on basis of the camp and selection matches. USA will play two ODI matches each against the host’s and Nepal during the tri-series, that will take place at Al Amerat ground.

The camp will also allow Head Coach, J Arunkumar, to have a look at a bigger pool of players and pick players to represent the “A” team as well and create a bench strength for the national squad for the future. While many in the list have already played for USA at International level, there are others, who have impressed the selection committees during zonal trials and also during the exhibition matches staged between the Minor League Cricket franchise teams in 2020.
