Kenya survive USA scare in low scoring thriller in 2nd match

USA came up just a little bit short as they made hard work for Kenya to chase down a meagre 64 runs by picking up 6 wickets before Kenya prevailed to win the match by 4 wickets in the 2nd match of the Tri-Nation tournament involving Nepal as well.

USA had a forgettable day when they came out to bat as they got bowled out for only 63 runs in 18.3 overs against a disciplined Kenyan attack.

Timil Patel (16) and Adil Bhatti (12) were the only players who reached double digit scores as Emmanuel Bundi (5/25) and Nelson Odhiambo (2/11) did most of the damage for Kenya. Jeremiah Odhiambo and Shem Ngoche also picked up a wicket apiece.

Kenya made hard work for themselves as they lost 6 wickets to USA bowlers before huffing and puffing their way to 64/6 in 22.1 overs. Alex Obanda (26) and Dhiren Gondaria (14) got amongst the runs for Kenya.

A wicket apiece was picked up by Elmore Hutchinson, Adil Bhatti, debutante Usman Rafiq, Roy Silva and Nosthush Kenjige.

The last match of the tournament takes place tomorrow between Kenya and Nepal. USA finish their campaign in the UAE and now will head to Oman to play a 3-match series against the host’s while Nepal & Kenya will proceed with their WCL Championship matches on 6th & 8th Dec, 2017.
