Anil Sah’s Singapore sojourn ends with Final of Elite Player Series

In a tense final played out at Indian Cricket Association ground in Singapore, SG Stars defeated SG Crimsons by 3 wickets in the final of Elite Player Series tournament.

While Crimsons managed to put up 97/9 on board in their 20 overs, Stars lost 7 wickets en-route to victory, scoring 98 runs in 17.3 overs.

Singapore National squad member, Dharmichand Mulewa was once again the wrecker-in-chief in the Crimsons innings as he picked up 5/14 in his spell of 4 overs with Zimbabwe’s Malcolm Waller contributing with 2/27 and Suresh Appusamy bowling an economical spell of 1/15 from his 4 overs.

Manpreet Singh top-scored for Crimsons with 20, while Rohan Rangarajan made 17 at the top of the order. The rest of the batting line-up couldn’t contribute much with Nepal’s Anil Sah making only 6 runs.

However, in reply, Stars batting line-up too faltered against the pace bowling of Zimbabwe’s Richard Ngarava (2/13 off 4) and Oman’s Sufyaan Mehmood (3/16 off 4). Stars wicket-keeper Aritra Dutta played the crucial role in his side’s victory with a swashbuckling innings of 51 runs from only 35 deliveries as Crimsons fell 15-20 runs too short to mount further pressure on the Stars.

Anil Sah got himself a wicket as well as he picked up 1/20 off his 2 overs with the scalp of Stars opener Nick Dorney and picked up a catch in the outfield of Neville Madziva.
